Meet Coach Jackie
Transitioning to South Central Los Angeles in the 9th grade, Jackie faced new challenges, but basketball emerged as her pathway to opportunity and growth. She earned a college scholarship, paving the way for a brighter future. Yet, not long after finishing her senior year of college, Jackie’s life took an unexpected turn—she became a single mother, an experience that would transform what seemed like a setback into her greatest blessing.
Instead of letting adversity define her, Jackie chose to see it as redirection. She leaned into faith, resilience, and determination. What she once thought was a setback became her true calling. From athlete to becoming one of the youngest collegiate head coaches in the country—earning championships and Coach of the Year honors—Jackie’s journey is a testament to perseverance and vision. It demonstrates the power of resilience and the beauty of flipping the script.
