Every young person has the potential to lead, inspire, and make a meaningful difference. Youth Empowerment & Leadership Academy™ equips young people with the confidence, character, and practical leadership skills they need to succeed in school, their communities, and future careers.
Inspired by Coach Jackie’s years of coaching, mentoring, and leadership experience, this program creates an encouraging environment where participants are challenged to discover their strengths, embrace responsibility, and develop the mindset needed to overcome obstacles. Through engaging activities, interactive workshops, mentorship, and real-world learning experiences, students gain the tools to become confident leaders who positively influence those around them.
The academy focuses on developing the whole person by strengthening leadership abilities, building resilience, encouraging personal accountability, and preparing youth for lifelong success both on and off the court.
Program Focus Areas
Leadership Development
Participants learn what it means to lead with integrity, confidence, and purpose. Through hands-on activities and practical leadership experiences, they develop decision-making skills, initiative, responsibility, and the ability to inspire and positively influence others.
Character Building
Strong leaders begin with strong character. This component emphasizes honesty, respect, accountability, perseverance, empathy, and personal responsibility, helping participants develop values that guide their everyday decisions.
Goal Setting
Success begins with a clear vision. Participants learn how to set realistic goals, create action plans, overcome obstacles, and stay motivated while working toward academic, personal, and professional achievements.
Teamwork & Communication
Leadership requires collaboration. Through team-based activities and interactive learning, participants strengthen communication skills, learn conflict resolution strategies, practice active listening, and discover how to work effectively with diverse groups.
Mentorship
Positive role models can change lives. Participants receive guidance, encouragement, and support from experienced mentors who help them navigate challenges, build confidence, and recognize their potential while creating meaningful connections that extend beyond the program.
College & Career Readiness
Young people are prepared for life beyond graduation through career exploration, college readiness, professional communication, resume development, interview preparation, networking skills, and workforce readiness. Participants gain the confidence and practical tools needed to pursue higher education or enter the workforce with purpose.
